Thank you to MTMC Tours for my copy of Welcome to Superhero School in exchange for my honest review.

I love discovering new authors, especially those who are young and who I can watch their writing develop over time. After reading Welcome to Superhero School, I think I have another new author to watch: Gracie Dix.

In Welcome to Superhero School, Dix has created a whole new world filled with – you guessed it – young superheroes. The characters are well crafted and fun to get to know as they learn more about their powers and get to put them to work. The storyline is exciting and fast-paced so even the most reluctant readers will want to keep turning the pages to see what happens next.

As an adult reading this middle grade/young adult book, I especially enjoyed the themes of friendship, perseverance and cooperation that appear throughout. I speak to my Girl Scout Troop about these topics on a regular basis and could see this book becoming a fun summer reading troop project. (Hey Gracie, want to make a fun patch with us??)

I look forward to reading more in this series and seeing how the characters, and the author’s writing mature over time. Gracie Dix and The Vork Chronicles have a lot of potential!

I give this book 3 Sips and look forward to more from this young author!

  1. Yes! I would love to be a part of your Troop project! Let me know when and I’ll send some bookmarks and maybe the girls want to do a Zoom visit!
Thanks so much for this review! I loved writing the book. The adventure is so fun, but the the importance of friendships, working together, perseverance and embracing your differences is my favorite part!
