One of my New Year’s resolutions is to concentrate more on the “Healthy Me” part of my blog and really get fit this year. But I also really love the “Books” part of my blog. So what’s a book nerd to do? I went in search of workouts that will get me fit and keep my book nerd side happy too. Here’s what I found. Which one will you try in the new year?
Please note: I am not a doctor. I am not a fitness professional. I’m just a regular gal looking to get fit and sharing a few fun things with you. This blog post should in no way replace the advice of actual professionals.
The Mockingjay Workout
Darebee.com is one of my favorite websites for workouts that I can do at home. It’s filled with programs, meal plans, videos and more. It also has some really creative ways to get you motivated to get fit – many of them are based on pop-culture and even a few books! This Mockingjay workout let’s you channel your inner Katniss Everdeen while you get yourself moving. Make sure the odds are ever in your favor and give this workout a try!
If you have been following my Instagram account, you know that I am a huge fan of Brigid Kemmerer, who is a huge fan of Crossfit. Recently on her Instagram page, Kemmerer shared a Curesebreakers Crossfit Workout. As a Crossfit beginner, I think I’m going to have to take this one slowly but in the end, if it means that I will be ready to do battle in Emberfall with Commander Grey, I’m ready to get started!
The Harry Potter Workout
Are you a big fan of the Harry Potter movies? If so, this workout is for you. Rather than just sitting through hours of film, this workout makes the movie a little more interactive. Just follow the instructions while you watch . It’s kind of like a drinking game, but much better for you! How far into the series can you get before you have to stop?
OK, this next one doesn’t have literary roots, but it’s a great workout so I just have to share it!
